Show all markers when page loads

  • User Level

    This pertains to WordPress version.
If I use short code, example. CAT=Brewery, when the page first loads, no markers are showing, but when you click categories, Brewery is checked, as you would expect. I want the markers to show when the page first loads. As it is right now, the user still has to click select to make markers appear. Is there a way to trigger that select when the page loads? Thanks

    Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry, the markers to show on the map are depending on the number of stores you added in the database. The script is using autofitbounds function from Google Maps API which is out of our scope. Here’s a sample of default category using the shortcode https://superstorefinder.net/superstorefinderwp/default-category/

Thank you for your reply. You are correct … I realized that I needed to make the default location in the middle of the area of interest. The thing that was throwing me off is that I’m in Minnesota, and I’m making a page for a person in Schoharie County, New York. Since I can’t use “Share Location” (because I’m 1200 miles away), once I set the default location correctly, all markers show. It does take a moment for the markers to show, there must be a recalculation or delay (google map related, out of your control).

The script works great. I purchased and installed superstore finder to give an example to my client, and he loves it. I wish there were more Google Markers available online, since most of them are ugly. I know I can make my own, but you would think there would be a lot of free ones, just like there are buttons and icons. If you guys came up with some really cool markers, you could sell the sets as adons.

When the screen goes from large (laptop) to small (tablet or smartphone), the category selector becomes a drop-down selection (above the map). The height of that selection box is fairly narrow, and sort of hard to see. I assume there is a CSS adjustment I could make to make that box more obvious.

    Here is what I mean:

    Hi there,

You’re welcome, you can download some markers for free here available here http://superstorefinder.net/support/knowledgebase/looking-for-map-icons-for-your-store-finder/

As for the UI, issue, it looks like it might be conflicting with the theme or plugins, try to use the default theme to see if the UI issue is fixed. Once you’ve identified, for example it’s conflicting with the theme, you can enable it again and use CSS override. Some articles that might be able to assist you as below.
