Don't zoom on click on marker

  • User Level

Hi, I have set up the Super Store Finder WordPress plugin on my site: http://judicialreviewbc.ca/getting-help/

I have a number of map entries corresponding to organizations in my province. Currently when you click on a map entry the map zooms in on that region quite closely. The behaviour that I want is that when one clicks on a map entry the map won’t zoom in at all, just the display with more information about that organization will appear.

That said, I’m using clustering and when one clicks on a cluster, I do want the display to zoom in. I just don’t want zooming when one clicks on an organization (map entry). How can I do this? For example, this competing product has the behaviour that I want: http://www.vitalorganizer.com/vo-locator-demo/

Thank you. The goal of this map is to allow people to better discover legal resources that are available to help them.

    Regards,
    Josh

P.S. I went through the code and then commented out the zoom function, so I now have this working without clustering: http://judicialreviewbc.ca/getting-help/ . I haven’t figured out how to get the behaviour I want with clustering on, yet.

I also see in the clustering code that there is a maxzoom concept built into the code. I haven’t quite figured that one out yet, but it seems like you may have built into the architecture some of what I’m trying to customize here.

Thanks for the code that is well commented and easy to read :)

    Hi Josh,

I have forwarded this post to our devs and they require more details as below.

Can you provide the code that you’re referring too and need more details i.e screenshot or video for clearer understanding.

    Cheers,
    Sofia

Okay, well, I’m just generally finding that the zooming feature isn’t working. Here’s an example:

Problem: when I search for a place and click on the results to zoom in, it doesn’t zoom to the place I click on, but instead to some other random place.

Here is a video of what I see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/teg27msah5pmct9/CLAS-Map-Video.mov?dl=0

    What should I do?

    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi Josh,

Our devs will require WP admin access and FTP access to investigate this further which you can send it via the contact form here https://codecanyon.net/user/highwarden

They said in the database the lat/long value might have some issues as per video but they will need to check this further.

    Cheers,

Thanks – I’ve sent the login info over via that link. I have also confirmed that I am experiencing the behaviour even after switching to the default wordpress theme, so I don’t think it’s a theme-related issue.

    Hi Sofia,

Thank you. The devs have fixed that issue to my satisfaction. I appreciate their attention.

I also still have the original question that I had above:

Issue: When I click on a marker on a map the map zooms in
Desired behaviour: When I click on a marker on the map, the information about that marker appears, but the map doesn’t zoom in. However, when I click on a cluster of markers, the map continues to zoom in on the cluster.

How do I make this happen?

    Thanks,
    – Josh
