Working on a plain http site

  • Hi, I set up Super Store finder on one of our websites a few years ago and it worked great. The site still runs on http protocol and the version of SSF hosted there is pretty old. Please note that the site was set up on jan 2016, before Google made api key mandatory. The problem is, starting from today (well, the client called today) there is a window saying “This page can’t load Google Maps correctly. Do you own this website?” and the map below has a grey transparent layer with the “for the development purposes only”. The main problem is that the client doesn’t want to set up a SSL certificate for the https protocol, since we’ll migrate the old site on a new one soon. How can we solve the problem? So far, the best idea I had was to set SSF on a https domain I own, and then embed the code on the old http site. But this would mean to export and import the shop list. Are there any other solutions?

    Thank you in advance
