Existing attributes

Hi, I read all your guide but I didn’t find how to enable the features to existing attributes.
Some product page has specific attributes not compatible with other product pages. What to do in this case? To regenerate thousands of attibutes? Also: regenerate thousands of variations with the certanty of have conflicts with SKU in database?
Please help! Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out, if you have existing attributes, unfortunately, you will have to recreate the attributes which are compatible with the plugin as the old attributes are not created to be linked with the plugin.

The number of attributes will depend on how do you wish to link and publish it for your products. You can refer to this user guide here on how to create the Attributes for your products.

There shouldn’t be any conflict with SKUs as you can enter them manually for each variations, more info available in this user guide section here.

Take note, the off-the-shelf plugin is just to display variation swatches in a graphical way, the framework and structure of assigning attributes, variations, products and others are coming directly from WooCommerce. You can refer WooCommerce documentation for more info and may contact their support directly here.

You’re welcome, yes this is unfortunate, because if you’ve created attribute swatches on a different plugin, those attributes belongs to a different plugin. Thus, when a new swatch plugin is installed, those attributes are not linked in any manner. Wish WooCommerce can figure out something like a global / standardized attribute structure that will work for all swatches plugins in the near future.
